Thanks loads. Like I told one acquaintance just last week... It's just not the organization I am involved with, it's a whole community. We're just a piece of the puzzle.

It's really amazing how much people can get done in a short period of time when they have a common goal.

One of the many reasons why I call Gretna home.

Well, all things considered... It's a vast improvement over getting dragged over the coals a month or so ago... Down side is that Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner, so watch for the prices to jump again.

I have strong feelings of sympathy for the farmers who were paying over $3 for diesel, (it's about $2.60 in Gretna now) and there are probably many still in the fields. I firmly believe they are still getting raped by the oil companies yet, but what can we do? They still have to get their crops out. Truckers are still getting screwed just as bad, too.. All that gets passed on to the consumer. Too bad the grain prices are too low for the farmers to see any kind of a profit.

The oil top brass will have to face Congress soon so don't look for the price to go any where but down .

When the big oil companies are showing major profits (British Petroleum profits are up 89% this fiscal year) they deserved to get raked over the coals.

Sad truth about this:

How many of our elected officials besides "Dubbya" and Cheney have some kind of an interest in the oil companies, especially those in the major oil producing states?

The inquiries may not get very far because of these people.
