What CD do you absolutely HAVE to have with you to keep your sanity? If you say a "mix" CD, what music groups are on that mix? One personal suggestion: "Back in Black" by AC/DC, anything by Green Day, or Van Halen. |
World Champion Location: Wayne, America Registered: October 20, 2002 Posts: 5714 | I have over 600 CD's in my collection...the question, then, is not what I'm bringing along, but what I'm leaving behind. As far as full CD's worthy of road trips, AC/DC's "Back In Black" is a must, as is Def Leppard's "Pyromania" -- personally, I'm nowhere without "Couldn't Stand The Weather" by Stevie Ray Vaughn or "Greatest Hits 1971-1975" by The Eagles. And no road trip is worthy of being called such without Led Zeppelin IV -- Listening to "Stairway To Heaven" while buzzing down a quiet Nebraska highway on a crisp, clear, star-kissed night is something to behold. If I can only take 10 CD's out of my collection on the road with me, I'd probably take the following: AC/DC - Back In Black Def Leppard - Pyromania Stevie Ray Vaughn - Couldn't Stand The Weather The Eagles - Best of 1971-1975 Led Zeppelin - IV Fleetwood Mac - Rumors Kiss - Animalize (Their best post-makeup album) Van Halen - I and 5150 Asia - Asia "Energy Flows Where Attention Goes" -- James Arthur Ray |

I speak from experience on this... Yes is good music for the road as well, provided it is the Fragile or YesSongs. Skynyrd is always good, especially if I need to warm up my karaoke chops. "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Gimme Three Steps" are two of my most favorite tunes to sing karaoke to...as you may remember from the days at the Sports Denn. World Champion Location: Wayne, America Registered: October 20, 2002 Posts: 5714 | Forget that...wait for my box set to come out this summer: "Mikey C -- Yodeling For Dummies" 5 CD's, lots of B-sides and demos, live clips from the "Where The **** Am I???" World Tour, a DVD of the garage band days and a 250-page full-color booklet with pictures, interviews and memories of past pre-concert ritualistic beheadings of fuzzy little gerbils. And if you're one of the first 2,500 to pick up a copy, I'll even autograph it for you in invisible ink. A better box set you WILL NOT find...available at Barnes and Noble, Wal-Mart and a convenience store near you (look in the frozen foods section, behind the neopolitain ice cream sandwiches).
