Right now the line-ups are looking pretty even. I think this will be a very good dual. Should be exciting! Thanks!

152 is going to be a pretty good one!

Line-ups are nearly finished! Two spots to fill. Hopefully should have them complete by the end of the day.

If Perkins is 152 he will whip whoever Iowa puts out there. Whole different level of wrestler.

HB, I tell you what, I'll put a wager on this. How about a little snack from the concession stand to the winner, the next time we bump into each other during the season.

oh yes, Iowa's got a stud, and he definitely will be able to go toe to toe with Perkins

Oh he's bringing 2 ham sandwiches, an apple, and a capri sun! The kids name is Andrew Sorenson, from Forest City I believe.

Looks like a good wrestler. I doubt he's wrestling too many kids like Perkins over there though.

No offense Pick125, but Perkins will handle Sorenson...and yes I've seen Sorenson before and in the off season.

I've seen the kids Perkins has beat and he has certainly proven he is one of the best in the country in the 145/152 range. Some don't realize this, but the only kid that could beat him as an 8th grader was Mike Benefiel from Illinois. Benefiel beat DaVaughn in the Tulsa finals in OT. The win Perkins got over Mallie Shuster of Pennsylvania last summer looks really good now. Shuster finished 3rd at the Beast of the East and could win a state title in Pennsylvania's biggest class.

"Never was a horse that couldn't be rode--never was a man that couldn't be throwed." My apologies to you English teachers in the crowd but somehow, "There has never been a horse that couldn't be ridden, nor a man that couldn't be thrown" just doesn't seem to have the same literary impact.

Well, I am sitting here in Sioux City in my hotel room at the NAIA Nationals and the blizzard outside and thought I would share the first draft of the 2007 Border Brawl line-ups. These are obviously subject to change, but I think they are pretty solid. Nebraska wrestler is on the left and Iowa on the right.

103- Zach Fronce (Ralston) vs. Cruse Aarhus (Cedar Rapids-Kennedy)
112- Clayden McKim (Millard South) vs. Mike Helle (RCL-SCAL)
119- Jared DeTurk (Amherst) vs. Tyler Clark (Bettendorf)
125- Andy Pokorny (Bennington) vs. Dalton Jensen (Missouri Valley)
130- Robert Eklund (Friend) vs. Micah Sheffield (Sioux City North)
130- Dylan Laughlin (Creighton Prep) vs. Tyler Halverson (Cherokee-Washington)
135- Daniel Rodriguez (Kearney) vs. Jordan Hasenkamp (Twin River Valley)
140- Trenton Washington (Boystown) vs. Zach McCool (West Delware-Manchester)
140- Travis Kuhn (High Plains Community) vs. Ben Knight (Sargeant Bluff)
145- Esai Dominguez (Creighton Prep) vs. TJ Moen (Saydel)
152- DeVaughan Perkins (Omaha North) vs. Andrew Sorensen (Forest City)
152- Chad Brester (Howells) vs. Ryan Helenthal (Keokuk)
160- Matt Mueller (Malcolm) vs. Robert Kellogg (Sioux City North)
171- Corey Steiger (Lincoln NE) vs. Ryan Ketelsen (Osage)
189- Mitch Brown (Millard South) vs. Vinnie Wagner (Osage)
215- Daniel Stoelting (Southern Valley) vs. Colton White (Tri-Center)
HWT- Shawn Meyer (Plainview) vs. Ben Boothby (Clinton)

Nebraska Coaches
Alan Pokorny, Bennington
John Hiffernan, Creighton Prep
Erich Warner, Blair
Andrew Juranek, Omaha North

Iowa Coaches
Andy Hensley, Tri-Center
Brent Jennings, Osage
Jon Garvin, Saydel
John Torno, Sioux City North

This line-up includes 17 Nationally ranked wrestlers according to Wrestling USA magazine. There are 35 state titles among these young men with many national accolades. This should provide wrestling fans with some great wrestling and a great dual. There are several match-ups of undefeated wrestlers with Trenton Washington taking on Zach McCool, DeVaughan Perkins taking on Andrew Sorensen, and Chad Brester taking on Ryan Helenthal.
